Virtual Pet Animation

A character system that grows with interaction.

Discuss this service

Designed for developers creating a digital pet or character-based habit app.

Pet behavior becomes hard to maintain when every action is a separate clip. Start with reusable poses and a clear priority order for rest, attention and user actions.

What we can build

  • Modular pet rig.
  • Care and attention behaviors.
  • Rest and interaction transition rules.

The final deliverables are agreed during discovery. Source files, implementation support and additional platform variants are included only when explicitly scoped.

A clear control contract

Plan the animation’s public controls before producing a full motion library. A starting specification might include:

  • activity: rest / play / care.
  • energy: bounded visual expression.
  • react: user interaction event.

These are proposed control names and behaviors, not an existing Rive asset. The final file determines the actual property and state names.

Integration considerations

The application stores pet state and elapsed time. The animation expresses supplied values; it does not persist a simulation or calculate pet health.

Review the behavior

Switch activities quickly and reload the screen. Verify consistent posing and prevent an interaction from interrupting an essential feedback state.

Portfolio preview pending. No client example is published for this service yet. Explore the labeled CSS interaction studies to discuss behavior and visual direction.

From brief to handoff

  1. Define. Review your audience, key events, platform and asset requirements.
  2. Design. Approve the visual direction, key poses and transition rules.
  3. Build. Rig the artwork and author the agreed state system.
  4. Validate. Review an export against the acceptance sequence and target runtime.
  5. Handoff. Deliver the scoped assets, control map and integration notes.

Questions before we start

Does the animation remember the pet?

Persistence belongs to the application. A documented state mapping makes it possible to restore the appropriate visual state after loading.

What should I include in the brief?

Share the target platform, screen dimensions, existing artwork, desired states and any runtime restrictions. A short recording of the current product is useful.

How are timing and cost agreed?

Scope depends on the artwork, state count, platform validation and revision needs. A defined brief comes before a project estimate.

CHAPTER 07 — START A PROJECT

Building something that needs to feel alive?

You build the product. I bring it to life. Share your platform, your idea, and the moments that need motion.
